Free RCDD-001: BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer - RCDD Exam Questions and Answers
BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer - RCDD is one of the BICSI tests covered here. BICSI credentials are separately governed rather than tiers of one scheme, and the split matters before you book. The design and project-management credentials — RCDD, DCDC, OSP and RTPM — require two to five years of relevant experience to sit, run to 100 questions over two to two and a half hours at Pearson VUE, and renew on a three-year continuing-education cycle whose credit quota differs by credential. The installer and technician credentials work differently: they pair a written paper with a hands-on practical, and Installer 1 requires no prior experience whatsoever. BICSI publishes no numeric pass mark and operates no exam-code system.

Question #8
You are placing Category 6 unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) in cable tray down a hallway past the elevator mechanical room. What action should you take to avoid effects of electromagnetic interference (EMI)?
Correct answer: A
Explanation
Elevator motor rooms are strong EMI sources, and the recommended remedy for unshielded twisted-pair is physical separation of about 1194 mm (47 in) rather than added shielding or conduit.

- A: BICSI does not publish a fixed percentage. - Q7: What happens if I fail the RCDD exam?
- A: There is a 30-day waiting period between unsuccessful attempts, and after a third unsuccessful attempt a 90-day waiting period applies. Each retest requires the retest fee, and you have one year from your application approval date to pass; after that you must submit a new application.
